Cikoko Residents Enjoy Subsidized Staple Foods amid Skyrocketing Prices

Cikoko Urban Village residents, Pancoran, South Jakarta were enthusiastic about shopping at the cheap market which was held in the yard of the local sub-district office. The goods sold at lower-than-market prices included rice, buffalo meat, cooking oil, and wheat flour.

Our price is cheaper compared to in the market

Cikoko Urban Village Secretary Taufik said it was realized in collaboration with the Perum Bulog, which aims to help residents to purchase cheap staple foods amid the rising price of basic food commodities during Ramadan.

"Our price is cheaper compared to in the market, like buffalo meat at Rp 80,000/kg which is lower than the market price at Rp 130,000/kg," he expressed, Wednesday (4/6).

Erna (42), a resident of Cikoko admitted that the market in the village office yard was so helpful.

"I bought buffalo meat and rice. Hope similar activity can also be held ahead of Eid al-Fitr," she stated.
